Great Start to Season for Legacy at Virginia Cup
The Virginia Legacy spent this past weekend in locations around the Williamsburg and Richmond area competing in the Virginia Cup. It was a superb showing for the Legacy teams, posting results against some of the best competition. Our teams competed through the heat and fatigue this weekend to break into the season with our heads up. Much can be said about how a player feels after a weekend like this; through it all we are now gaining traction into our league games these following weeks. A special thanks to all the players and parents who participated this weekend, your effort meant our success.
A few storylines did emerge from this weekend. The Legacy had two teams crowned champions this weekend. Our U18 East End Wizards finished first this weekend, defeating SOCA in the finals 2-1. The Wizards defeated SOCA with goals from Danny Gregory and Ben Forest. The U13 CCL Elite Boys, our second Championship team, finished undefeated and only conceded 2 goals all weekend. The 13’s had a +16 goal differential.
All of the teams competed hard this past weekend and that’s something we as club are very proud of. Our U14 CCL Elite Girls, U13 Titans, and U16 CCL Elite Girls all placed second this past weekend taking home some hardware on opening weekend.
Great job this weekend Legacy!
