The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is pleased to announce the travel team tryout dates for the upcoming 2021/2022 seasons.  Tryouts for all Virginia Legacy travel teams, for boys and girls ages U9-U19 (players born 2013 - 2003), will take place on May 8^th through May 13th.  For exact dates and times please click here

1) Tryout/Team Formation information:

All players interested in participating with the Virginia Legacy for the 2021/22 seasons are encouraged to visit our website for more information on teams, fees, the tryout process and locations in which Legacy operates.

Teams will be formed by Birth Year Registrations - Please only attend the tryout for the year in which you were born - unless otherwise directed by the Legacy Technical Staff.

Tryout Logistics for Each Location
The Virginia Legacy Soccer Club will be offering teams across the Peninsula and Williamsburg for the 2021/22 Season. During the Tryout Registration Process you will be asked to check the locations you would be willing to accept a team position in. 

For those attempting to play at the Elite Level – it is encouraged to attend as many tryouts as possible. For those only choosing to play in 1 or 2 of the communities – you only need to make the tryouts scheduled for those communities – although you are welcome to attend as many as you like. 

Team Designations:
- Williamsburg Legacy (U9-U14) - Practice and Game Locations Primarily in Williamsburg Area
- Peninsula Legacy (U9-U14) - Practice and Game Locations Primarily in Newport News, York and Peninsula Locations
- Wizards Green (U15-19) - Practice and Game Locations Vary based on Coach and Roster at each age group while trying to maintain a community base 

- Wizards Black (U15-19) - Practice and Game Locations Vary based on Coach and Roster at each age group - while trying to maintain a community base
- Phoenix (U9-U18) - Practice and Game Locations Vary based on Coach and Roster at each age group - while trying to maintain a community base
- Elite - Practice and Game Locations Vary based on Coach and Roster at each age group

Elite Level Travel Teams (All Communities combined) (Ages 11-19)

The Elite Travel teams consist of the top players in a particular age group. The Boys and Girls Elite Teams will play play matches in VPSL which is now an ECNL Regional League with access to top events and showcases and is the top league in Virginia made up of  the top clubs throughout the region. Teams will also attend several prestigious tournaments along the east coast, and will participate in Virginia State Championship competitions through either US Club Soccer, Virginia Youth Soccer or both. All Legacy Elite teams train 3 times per week with their team. The goal of the Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is to provide a meaningful competition environment for the Club’s U11-19 travel players through a customized schedule of League, State competitions, regional competitions, Tournaments and competitive Friendly matches.

VSL Level Travel Teams: 
U9 Boys - Williamsburg Wizards / Peninsula Wizards (TASL)
U10 to U14 Boys - Williamsburg Wizards / Peninsula Wizards (VSL Division 1/2)
U15 to U19 Boys - Wizards Green and Wizards Black (VSL Division 1/2)
U10 to U19 Girls - Phoenix (VSL Division 1/2)

VSL Travel teams will play in a competitive environment just below the Elite Level. The Boys teams are called Wizards while the Girls teams are called Phoenix. All Legacy Wizards and Phoenix teams participate in the Virginia Soccer League Inc. (VSL). The VSL provides exceptional regionalized competition from Virginia Beach, Richmond and all areas in between.  All Legacy Wizards and Phoenix teams train at least three times per week, and training is often integrated between other teams to allow for constant observation and evaluation of all players in the age group pool. The goal of the Virginia Legacy Soccer Club is to provide a meaningful competition environment for the Club’s U10 – U19 travel players through a customized schedule of League, Tournament and competitive Friendly matches. These teams will be primarily community based and practice/game locations will be dictated by the rosters and coaching staff assigned to these teams.  It is the goal that teams named Wizards or Phoenix are placed in the highest level of VSL possible. 

2) Registration:

All players that are interested in trying out for the Virginia Legacy Soccer Club must pre- register online via at this link  - There is No COST to register or attend! 

3) Coaching Slate for 2021/22:

Coaching assignments for the 2021/22 seasons will be posted online as they become confirmed starting late April. Please continue to visit our website for updates on coaches, fees, uniforms, and other information regarding the 2021/22 travel soccer seasons.
